Tapi Carpets benefits from digital initiatives in second half

Tapi Carpets increased its sales by 30% in the second half of its financial year after it benefited from a buoyant homewares market and improvements made to its digital offering.

Initiatives such as online quotes, video appointments and augmented reality functionality helped the retailer to achieve a 300% uplift in web traffic in the period. This meant there was a 500% increase in customers coming from digital channels.

Tapi now expects its full year revenue to come in at in excess of £100 million.

Tapi Carpets chief executive James Sturrock said: “Our strategic focus on digitalising the business and providing a seamless customer experience both online and across our growing nationwide store estate has powered our growth in 2020 and an expected maiden profit.

“We are cautious about the the first half of 2021 in light of the ever changing face of the Covid-19 pandemic,  but are confident for the outlook of the full year.”
