Sharps appoints Andy Horny as chair
The Sharps fitted bedroom furniture retailer has appointed Andy Hornby as non-executive chairman.
Currently heading up Wagamama and Frankie & Benny’s owner The Restaurant Group, Hornby has spent over 25 years in leadership positions at some of the UK’s largest consumer-facing businesses. Previous roles include chief operating officer of GVC Holdings and chief executive of Coral, Alliance Boots and HBOS respectively. He has also held a variety of senior management roles at Asda.
Sharps is currently evolving its marketing mix as it looks to become a digital-first business and has recently launched a living range. The company is expecting to install furniture in over 30,000 homes across the UK this year.
Kevin Smith, chief executive of Sharps, said: “We are delighted to welcome Andy, a proven first-class business executive, as Chairman of Sharps. His experience guiding some of Britain’s largest consumer-facing brands through digital-led transformations will be invaluable to us as we embark upon the next stage of our growth plan. We are all excited to be working with Andy and look forward to benefitting from his insights and guidance.”
