ScS on track to meet full year expectations

Upholstered furniture retailer ScS has said it is on track to meet its full year expectations after it traded well throughout its important winter sale period.

In the 26 weeks 29 January, order intake was in line with the board’s expectations, with one year like-for-like order intake growth of 16.6%. Meanwhile, sales on a two-year basis were in line with those achieved in the pre-pandemic 26 week period to 25 January 2020.

In addition, ScS saw its online orders climb by 55.8% compared to the same period two years ago.

As at 29 January 2022, the retailer’s order book was double the size it was at 25 January 2020 at £148 million. ScS said this was driven by both ongoing demand and supply chain challenges which have extended product lead times. It is now working closely with suppliers to mitigate the risk of continued supply chain disruption in the second half of the financial year.

Looking ahead, the retailer said: “The board is pleased with the group’s bookings performance to date and it remains on track to meet full year expectations.”
