Screwfix appoints new marketing director
Screwfix has promoted Graham Smith to the role of marketing director.
Having joined Screwfix in 2009, Smith was previously the home improvement retailer’s director of retail marketing where he was responsible for the delivery of promotional plans across Screwfix’s stores and building brand awareness. He also led the marketing activity for the launch of new stores.
In the role of marketing director, Smith will join Screwfix’s board and have overall responsibility for marketing across the business.
He has succeeded John Mewett who is now group digital director at Screwfix owner Kingfisher. Mewett will continue to oversee ecommerce for Screwfix and remains as a Screwfix board member.
The news comes as Screwfix opened its milestone 500th UK store in Enfield last week.
Andrew Livingston, chief executive of Screwfix, said: “Graham has a deep knowledge of Screwfix and broad commercial experience from his time with the business and, prior to that, through senior commercial roles at leading UK retailers. I’m delighted to announce an internal appointment to this role and believe Graham will continue to play a significant part in our future success.”
