Rowen Homes to open first physical store following strong online success
Homeware and interiors retailer Rowen Homes has chosen Metrocentre Gateshead as the location for its first physical store.
The move follows strong growth for the retailer’s online business.
Due to open in April, the shop will be situated in a former Laura Ashley unit on Metrocentre’s upper Platinum Mall. It will sell the brand’s range of luxury furniture and homewares and will also include an experiential space where workshops, talks and events will be held.
Rowen Homes was founded in August 2020 by Forbes 30 under 30 entrepreneur Alice Hall and her husband Andrew. Since then, the company has built a substantial social media following of over 1.3 million and experienced strong demand for its glamorous products.
Ben Cox of Sovereign Centros, senior asset manager for Metrocentre, said: “We are delighted that Rowen Homes have chosen Metrocentre for their first ever physical store. It is great to support the growth of an award winning North East business. They have a strong digital presence which will be complemented by a fantastic new flagship store in Platinum Mall. We are confident their plans for a new experiential concept will be a popular addition to Metrocentre.”
The introduction of Rowen Homes follows the recent opening of fashion brand Vanilla at Metrocentre. Meanwhile Zara, Flannels, Sports Direct and Everlast Gym will be launching flagship stores at the centre in the autumn.
