Mustard Made to donate over £39,000 to support LGBTIQ human rights

Mustard Made have donated £39,400 to LGBTIQ advocacy group Outright International.

In celebration of Pride, this June Mustard – the colourful furniture brand known for its vintage-inspired lockers – created its first limited-edition product, a rainbow locker. Designed not just to look good but do good too, The Rainbow Standard launched to an overwhelming response. With 50% of all sales to be donated to Outright International, The Rainbow Standard sold out in some regions in only a few hours and globally within a week, prompting Mustard to quickly extend the campaign to include an additional product run by pre-order.

Founded by sisters Becca and Jess Stern, giving back has always been part of Mustard’s mission. “When the time came for us to plan our Pride celebrations for 2024 we decided to attempt something a little adventurous and very special, we had no idea how amazing it would truly become,” said Becca Stern, Co-Founder and Creative Director of Mustard Made.

“The rainbow is a vital emblem of the LGBTIQ community and we wanted to make sure this very special piece would give back to that community in a tangible way. The response was greater than we dreamed it would be and we are so proud to be able to donate such a meaningful amount towards the essential work Outright International does for the LGBTIQ community around the world,” said Becca.

“We offer a heartfelt thank you to everyone on the Mustard Made team who made the Pride 2024 Rainbow Standard campaign a reality, said Elise Colomer-Cheadle, Director of Development & Corporate Engagement at Outright International. “Your generosity is truly inspiring. The impact of your donation cannot be understated, for it plays a strong role in bolstering Outright’s global advocacy, research and grantmaking programs, for better LGBTIQ lives. We are very grateful for this partnership.”

Outright International is an LGBTIQ human rights advocacy organisation that combats human rights violations and abuses against lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex and queer people. You can read more about Outright and its mission at outrightinternational.org.

About The Rainbow Standard:

Created to celebrate the power and meaning of the rainbow as a symbol of love, equality, diversity and resistance, The Rainbow Standard launched on 18th June in time for London and New York Pride festivals. The limited edition design features every Mustard colour in one beautiful longline locker.

To help share The Rainbow Standard with as many people as possible, Mustard partnered with maximalist designers and content creators @joshandmattdesign.
