Laura Ashley partners with Next
Laura Ashley has embarked on a new partnership with Next to enable it to have its products sold via Next’s website and stores.
In a statement, Laura Ashley owner Gordon Brothers said Next was an ideal partner due to its online presence in 70 countries and its 500 stores in the UK and Ireland.
Gordon Brothers acquired Laura Ashley’s brand, archives and related intellectual property in April following its collapse into administration.
Frank Morton, chief executive of international for Gordon Brothers, said: “Our partnership with Next allows us to embark on an exciting new chapter and relaunch the iconic Laura Ashley brand. Our decision to acquire the brand was based on the global awareness of Laura Ashley and customer affinity for the brand, which will be renewed through this partnership.”
Gordon Brothers is currently working to expand Laura Ashley’s portfolio of licensees and franchisees, strengthen its ecommerce presence and develop more strategic wholesale and retail relationships.
Simon Wolfson, chief executive of Next, said: “Next is delighted to be partnering with Gordon Brothers and the Laura Ashley team to relaunch this iconic British brand. We believe that the combination of the design vision of the Laura Ashley team alongside Next’s online and retail infrastructure can combine to revitalise this world class brand.”
