Kleeneze goes into administration
Kleeneze has entered administration and ceased trading. The move has put 140 jobs at risk at the company’s head office and warehouse locations near Manchester.
The 95-year old business sold household and beauty products online and through a network of around 5,000 self-employed door-to-door sellers across the UK and Ireland.
FRP Advisory’s David Acland and Anthony Collier have been appointed as joint administrators and are working to save the business by finding a buyer.
Acland said: Kleeneze has performed well over the years and has a strong network of independent sales distributors. Unfortunately, tough trading conditions have resulted in the business entering administration.

Trade union Usdaw is seeking meetings with the administrators in a bid to protect members’ jobs.
Annette Bott, area organiser at Usdaw, said: “This is clearly a difficult and upsetting time for the 140 staff based in Accrington and Heywood. We are pressing the administrators to find a buyer for the company who will protect jobs and keep the business going.”
