Kingfisher hires chief customer and digital officer
B&Q owner Kingfisher has hired Jean-Jacques Van Oosten as its chief customer and digital officer.
Van Oosten has joined the business from The LEGO Group where he was chief digital officer with responsibility for making ecommerce the biggest part of the business.
Prior to that, he worked in the retail and home improvement sectors at companies such as REWE, Travis Perkins and Tesco. He also previously worked with Kingfisher where he was group IT director from 2005 to 2008.
A Belgian national, Van Oosten will be a member of the Kingfisher executive team and will be based at the group’s head office in Paddington.
Thierry Garnier, chief executive of Kingfisher, said: “JJ is an experienced digital leader with a track record of driving change in international companies. He has a key role to play at Kingfisher as we look to accelerate our digital and data capabilities and grow ecommerce sales.”
