JYSK to open new Barnsley store

Danish furniture retailer JYSK is continuing its UK expansion with the opening of a new store in Barnsley.

Due to launch on 29 September, the shop at Wombwell Lane Retail Park will have 1,200 square metres of floor space and sell the retailer’s range of Scandi-chic homeware.

To celebrate the launch, JYSK will be offering up to 70% off hundreds of products for the duration of the opening week to all customers shopping in the store.

Matt White, JYSK Barnsley store manager, said: “We are so pleased to be bringing JYSK to Barnsley this September and expanding our store presence in Yorkshire for local shopper. JYSK prides itself on its instore visual merchandising and Barnsley is no different, so we’re really looking forward to the locals of Barnsley and surrounding areas experiencing it themselves.”

JYSK already has 26 stores in the UK and is planning more openings in the country later in 2022. The retailer enjoyed record results in its 2021/2022 financial year when total turnover increased by 11% to DKK 36.2 billion.
