JYSK to invest in new Dutch distribution centre
Danish furniture retailer JYSK is to begin the construction of a new distribution centre in Holland next spring.
Creating more than 350 new jobs, the facility in Lelystad will be the retailer’s tenth in Europe.
JYSK will be investing €200 million in the centre which will be fully operational in 2024.
Allan Kjærgaard, executive vice president of logistics in JYSK, said: “We are really happy with the location in Lelystad. It is very close to the harbour of Flevokust, which is a logistics hub in Holland, making it easy to transport our products to and from the distribution centre.
“We are very confident that qualified employees can be recruited within the local area and are looking forward to develop the plot together with the municipality of Lelystad.”
The facility will deliver products to both JYSK stores and customers in Holland, Belgium, the UK and Ireland.
JYSK is currently expanding in the UK and last week opened a new store in Bury at Angouleme Retail Park. It is also planning to launch a shop in Stockport at Manchester Road Retail Park on 8 July.
