JYSK seeks out best retail talent as it steps up international expansion

After reaching a milestone of 3,000 stores worldwide, furniture retailer JYSK has set a new target of 5,000.

With 21 stores in the UK and plans to open five more by the end of 2021, the company has kicked off its biggest employee branding campaign to date as it looks to recruit potential store managers.

Launched with the help of existing store managers, the ‘Want to join our 3,000 Store Managers?’ multichannel campaign is running both internally and externally on online platforms including LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube.

“With our sights set on 5,000 stores globally we are on a mission to find the best retail store managers out there.” explained JYSK’s UK & Ireland HR manager Dawn Howe. “It’s been a tough year for employment, so we are so excited by the prospects that the employer branding campaign is going to bring.

“During this campaign, we have two main goals: to celebrate our existing 3,000 store managers, who are proud to be part of JYSK as much as we are proud to have them as part of JYSK, and to attract the future. The best of retail talent, who will help us reach further in our journey to 5,000 stores. As we say at JYSK – When you grow, we grow.”

JYSK asked the 3,000 store managers what qualities it should look for when recruiting people to manage the new stores. This was achieved through an international survey in which 21 UK store managers and 21 deputy store managers participated.
