JYSK opens first store in Azerbaijan
Furniture retailer JYSK has opened its first store in Azerbaijan.
The franchise store is situated in the country’s capital of Baku and has a sales area of 1,105 square metres.
The retailer already has a presence in nearby countries with franchise stores operating in Armenia and Georgia.
JYSK franchise director Frederik Kroun said: “We are already represented in that part of the world, and we strongly believe that there is a market for JYSK in Azerbaijan as well. It is a market with growth and of course we want to be a part of that and provide the customers with a great offer from JYSK.”
The store will be run by JYSK’s existing franchise partner Denis Razloga, who currently operates the JYSK franchise in Moldova. JYSK is planning to open further stores in Azerbaijan and has already identified three locations.
The opening means that JYSK’s international reach will remain at 52 countries following the decision to close down its franchise operation in Singapore. The retailer currently has 2,700 stores around the world.
