JYSK enters Belarus

Danish furniture retailer JYSK has opened its first store in Belarus as it continues its international expansion.

Situated in Minsk, the store spans 2,600 square meters and will serve the capital city’s 1.8 million inhabitants.

Frederik Kroun, franchise director at JYSK, said: “JYSK has proven to be a success in the neighboring Baltic States, where we have been present for 15 years. This makes it natural for us to expand our franchise to include Belarus, and we see a big potential for JYSK in the country.”

The stores in Belarus will be operated by JYSK’s franchise organization in the Baltic countries, and the plan is to continually open new stores in Belarus in the coming years. The second JYSK store in Belarus is set to open at the beginning of December.

Kroun added: “We believe that the Belarusian customers are ready to take part in the great Scandinavian offers from JYSK, and we look forward to providing that.”

JYSK opened its first store in Denmark in 1979 and now has over 2,400 stores and 20,000 employees in 45 countries.
