JYSK continues UK expansion with new Leeds store

Danish furniture retailer JYSK will have 24 shops in the UK when it opens the doors to its new store in Leeds next month.

Due to launch on 26 August, the shop at South Retail Park on Tulip Street will generate 15 jobs for the local community.

JYSK said the launch will be a major opening for the company and will be publicised  on billboards throughout the city in the coming weeks. In addition, Capital Yorkshire listeners will be treated to an online giveaway to win vouchers to spend at the store.

The retailer already operates five Yorkshire shops in Bradford, Dewsbury, Pontefract, Wakefield and York and has opened three new stores in the UK in the year to date.

Jenny Johnston, JYSK sales and marketing manager, UK and Ireland, said: “Leeds is one of the top five largest cities in the UK so to put our JYSK mark on the map here is a really exciting milestone for us. We already have a strong customer base in Yorkshire so it feels a real accomplishment that we can go one step further and bring our products right into the metropolis of the region, in Leeds.”
