John Lewis ‘ANYDAY’ concept lights up St David’s

The St David’s shopping destination in Cardiff has seen John Lewis open a new pop-up showroom experience for its ANYDAY homewares brand as it looks to build the profile of the range.

Only the second of its kind in the UK, the store spans 4,277 square feet and is situated on the Lower Grand Arcade, adjacent to Disney, Sports Direct, and Lego.

The move follows the success of the ‘Test & Learn’ exhibition spaces that John Lewis Cardiff launched this summer for ANYDAY in the centre’s Lower Mall..

Cliff Vanstone, head of branch at John Lewis Cardiff,  said: “John Lewis is a mainstay of St David’s Cardiff – it’s one of our largest stores in the UK. We are incredibly excited to collaborate on this joint initiative with St David’s, as we look to diversify the John Lewis experience, and showcase our affordable but high-quality and stylish homeware range. The ANYDAY pop-up will help us engage with our customers in a new way, and we’ve already seen a great response only a short time from opening.”

The pop-up aims to showcase products and whole room sets in an experiential way. Customers are able to walk through the spaces to get a feel for different styles and layouts, whilst also having the opportunity to engage with local John Lewis partners.

Russell Loveland, senior portfolio director for Landsec, said: “John Lewis is a household name, consistently recognised for its high calibre products. We are excited that St David’s has been selected for this new style retail experience, putting us at the forefront of changing perceptions around the brand’s homeware products. The introduction of ANYDAY and this experiential retail demonstrates the brand’s expanding presence within Cardiff, and the city’s relevance as a test-bed for new concepts in retail.”

Other experiential stores that have opened recently at St David’s include a Welsh debut for Sky and a new store for lifestyle brand BoConcept.
