IKEA opens first Planning Studio store
IKEA has opened its first shop in its new Planning Studio format for customers shopping for kitchens and bedrooms.
Situated in Tottenham Court Road, the store also marks the first step in IKEA’s new city centre approach for the UK and Ireland.
Jane Bisset, IKEA London city centre market leader, said: “Our new city centre approach brings IKEA into the heart of London and is designed to complement our larger stores and digital offering, so customers have a wide range of choices that suit their needs and lifestyles.
“The IKEA Planning Studio on Tottenham Court Road will give Londoners a relaxed and professional experience to get the advice and inspiration they need to plan more complex or large-scale home projects, with the expertise and specialist support of our co-workers, alongside a great service package.”
IKEA is currently looking for other suitable locations in London for a similar format and will also be opening an IKEA store in Greenwich early next year.
To celebrate the opening of the Tottenham Court Road store, IKEA has revamped its iconic blue FRAKTA bag, which has been made smaller to fit only essential items such as a set of keys, phone and a wallet.
