Homebase partners with Next to launch new garden centres at Next stores

Homebase has teamed up with Next to trial the opening of garden centres in six Next stores.

Due to launch on 12 April, the selected locations will include Next shops in Shoreham, Ipswich, Warrington, Camberley, Bristol and Sheffield.

Products offered will include a variety of plants, pots and garden tools. Customers will also be able to take advantage of gardening advice from Homebase in-store team members and access personalised hints and tips via a plant care app called SmartPlant.

Damian McGloughlin, chief executive of Homebase, said: “We’re delighted to be joining forces with Next and bringing our garden products and expertise to its stores. It’s all part of our wider commitment to make shopping with us easier and provide even more inspiration and expert advice. We’re a great nation of gardeners, with more and more people enjoying the benefits of gardening and being outside. The launch of these new garden centres means we’re able to offer more gardeners, both experienced and those just starting out, Homebase products in more locations across the country.”

Homebase is also set to open more of its small-format stores on 12 April. A dual-branded Kitchens by Homebase and Bathstore, DECORATE by Homebase, and a first small-format Homebase store will launch on Walton-on-Thames high street. The openings will bring the total number of Homebase’s small-format stores to six across Guildford, Cheadle and Sutton.
