Hillarys to be acquired by Hunter Douglas
Hillarys, the blinds and curtain specialist, is to be acquired by Hunter Douglas, the Dutch manufacturer of window coverings and architectural products.
Hunter Douglas has agreed to buy Hillarys from Ares Capital Corporation for a purchase price of £300 million.
With sales in 2016 of £185 million, Hillarys employs around 1,300 people. The company will remain a standalone business following the acquisition and will be run by the existing management team.
Hunter Douglas has a head office in Rotterdam and a management office in Lucerne, Switzerland. The group is comprised of 130 companies with 50 manufacturing and 80 assembly operations in more than 100 countries. It employs about 21,000 people and had sales of $2.821 billion in 2016.
