Habitat to open its first stand-alone mini store with a return to Leeds

Habitat has chosen Leeds as the location for the launch of its first new format stand-alone mini Habitat store. The move marks a return to the city for the homewares retailer.

Spanning 2,000 square feet, the store will stock an edit of over 600 products, all of which have been designed by Habitat’s in-house design team. Categories will include furniture, upholstery, lighting, homewares and textiles.

Customers will also be able explore the full Habitat range of 4,500 products online on integrated digital screens and in-store iPads.

The interiors brand is looking to trial regional touch point stores across the UK to help support its multichannel growth strategy. Investment in smaller footprint stand-alone and store-in-store formats, as seen in Habitat’s recent Sainsbury’s Mini Habitat stores in Solihull and London, will aim to boost online and offline brand awareness and increase online shopper confidence.

Clare Askem, managing director of Habitat, said: “This is our first new stand-alone concept for the business so an extremely exciting time for the brand as we continue to evolve both digitally and offline with new store formats,

“We know we have a lot of Habitat fans in Leeds so we’re delighted to be returning here. A lot of our online customers in the area have highlighted that they want to physically interact with products before they buy which the new store allows them to do as well as getting advice from our in-store colleagues.”

The store will open on 28 January.
