Furniture retailer JYSK to enter Belgium
Danish furniture retailer JYSK is to launch its first store in Belgium next month.
The shop will be situated in Schoten in the north of the country and will open on 5 April. The move marks the next step in JYSK’s global expansion strategy.
The store will be officially opened by JYSK founder and owner Lars Larsen and the Danish ambassador to Belgium, Louise Bang Jespersen.
Larsen said: “The opening in Belgium is a milestone because it means that there are now JYSK stores in almost every European country. However, the goal is to establish JYSK stores all over the world, so there is still a lot of work to do.”
JYSK will also be launching a store in the city of Genk on the same day.
Larsen added: “We are looking forward to presenting our Belgian customers to JYSK and the Scandinavian culture, which is integrated in everything we do, from the design of our products to the way we run our business. Our Scandinavian culture has been an important part of making JYSK a success in 47 countries, and I am sure that this will also be the case in Belgium.”
