Dunelm profits set to beat expectations
Dunelm has announced that its full year profits are set to beat expectations following a good response from customers to its new website.
The homewares retailer said the transition to the new site had gone well with no adverse impact on performance. It also revealed that strong sales growth has been maintained both online and in-store.
In addition, Dunelm’s gross margins have been stronger than anticipated as a result of sourcing gains and better sell through.
In a statement, the company said: “We now have a modern, flexible, cloud-native platform that will be used to accelerate the development of our customer proposition.
“The board now anticipates that the full year profit before tax will be higher than our previous expectations, assuming no significant change in consumer demand as a result of the outcome of the general election.”
Dunelm will give a more detailed trading update on 9 January 2020.
