Dunelm full year profits to beat expectations

Homewares retailer Dunelm has said it now expects its full year profits to be ahead of previous expectations.

This follows continued strong trading across the business.

Since its last trading update on 10 April when it reported that like-for-like sales had increased by 12.5%, the retailer has seen “very good” like-for-like sales growth, particularly in May and June.

This compares to softer growth in the fourth quarter of last year.  The retailer said it has benefited from unseasonably favourable weather conditions this year.

Dunelm’s board now expects pre-tax profit for the year to be in the range of £124 million to £126 million.

The retailer will complete its financial year on 29 June.
