Dreams makes two new senior hires

Dreams has appointed Paul Solly as its new chief commercial officer and Michael Dingwall as director of production.

With over 20 years’ experience in the retail sector, Solly (pictured) will lead the buying, merchandising, ecommerce, technical and ethical teams, and will work closely with Dreams’ chief executive Jonathan Hirst, who previously held the role.

Having started his career at Marks & Spencer, where he spent 23 years across various instore and merchandising roles, he previously worked as chief commercial officer at The Fragrance Shop. Prior to that, he was trading director at Matalan and also worked as category director of home and furniture at Tesco.

Hirst said: “I’m delighted to bring Paul on board as our new chief commercial officer. As Dreams enters an exciting new phase of growth, Paul will be a great addition to our Executive team. He brings a wealth of experience from some of the country’s finest retailers, and will no doubt add huge value to the business as we continue to grow.”

Meanwhile, Dingwall will be responsible for the Dreams’ bed factory in Oldbury and will undertake a review of all production processes.

With  over 30 years’ experience in the bed industry, he has worked with both Silentnight and Harrison Spinks and has been production director at Dams Furniture for the last three years.

Hirst added: “We’re excited to welcome Michael to lead our production team who will take over from Mick Hargreaves who after 12 years with us has now decided to retire.   Michael has the skills and experience to take our production facility onto another level and we look forward to supporting him on what will be an exciting journey.”
