Dobbies boosts high street presence with new Richmond store

The Dobbies garden centre chain is to open a new small format Little Dobbies store in George Street in London’s Richmond.

The retailer has agreed a new ten year lease for the 2,700 square foot space which previously housed a Topshop store.

The shop will be operating under the Little Dobbies brand following the launch of the concept in Edinburgh last year. Other locations include Bristol and London.

Dobbies has appointed real estate advisor Savills  to continue the roll out of the Little Dobbies brand as it looks to extend its reach to to urban towns and cities across the UK. The retailer is targeting sites of approximately 2,000 square feet in prime high street and town centre locations.

Cameron Bell, retail director at Savills, said: “The Little Dobbies concept continues to prove successful and its latest store in Richmond is the perfect next step for the brand. The store will be located in a highly desirable retail pitch, at the centre of a prime suburban town, and the change of use for the site from fashion to lifestyle, reflects the trends we’re seeing within the wider market.”
