DFS appoints former Holland & Barrett CEO as non-executive director

DFS Furniture has appointed Tony Buffin as a non-executive director.

Due to take up his role on 24 February 2025, he will also be appointed as a member of the audit committee, remuneration committee, RSC Committee and nomination committees.

Buffin is currently chair chair of Nobia, the leading European kitchen specialist and parent company of Magnet in the UK. He is also a non-executive director of Applied Nutrition which recently listed on the London Stock Exchange.

He was chief executive of Holland & Barrett from 2019 to 2021 and has also previously held senior roles at Travis Perkins and Coles Group.

Steve Johnson, chair of DFS, said, I am delighted that Tony is joining the board. His significant retail experience is directly relevant to the DFS’ strategy. I look forward to working closely with Tony as we move forward with our strategy to accelerate growth and develop our home offering.”

In January, DFS reported an improved performance in the first half of its financial year after it made market share gains and benefited from lower operating costs and an improvement in gross margin.
