Better Bathrooms enters administration

More than 300 jobs have been lost at Better Bathrooms after the retailer went into administration.

Administrators from FRP Advisory said that 325 staff members have been made redundant although ten head office and warehouse function staff have been retained on a temporary basis to assist with the adminstration process.

Better Bathrooms’ showrooms, trade counters and warehouses have all been closed.

Phil Pierce, joint administrator and partner at FRP Advisory, said: “The challenges facing the UK retail industry are well known and and are puttng immense pressure on businesses operating in the sector.

“Unfortunately, Better Bathrooms has suffered from severe cashflow difficulties and and an extended period of soft trading, which has forced the business into administration.

“Without significant investment or the cash to continue trading, the difficult decision was made to cease trading.”

The administrators have asked that any parties interested in acquiring the assets of the business should come forward as soon as possible.
