Bensons embarks on recruitment drive as part of growth plans

Bensons for Beds has embarked on a new recruitment drive as part of plans to grow the business and accelerate its transformation plans.

The bed retailer is looking to hire around 180 people nationwide to fill vacancies across its UK stores, four distribution centres, its head office in Accrington, and its manufacturing site in Cambridgeshire.

Roles include digital, merchandising and warehouse jobs, as well as positions for drivers, customer care specialists, engineering technicians, production operatives, sales consultants and store managers.

The initiative has been driven by the transformation of the business since it became a standalone company in 2020 as part of a £20 million investment. Key areas of investment have included the transformation of Bensons’ online offering and the introduction of new technology.

Bensons is working with Career Transition Partnership to help ex-military personnel into roles such as logistics, engineering and planning, and New Futures Networks to help ex-offenders take up manufacturing and warehousing positions. It is also working with Job Centre Plus on pre-employment training for contact centre, production and warehouse roles.

Bensons HR director Maxine Blackwell said: “The exciting top-to-bottom transformation of Bensons means we need around 180 colleagues to join our team. We’re on the lookout for people who match who we are – devoted, driven and even daring.  And because the perfect night’s sleep is what we’re passionate about, there’s a real mission at the heart of what we do as we bring our customers real peace of mind.”
