Well appoints Ben Turner as HR director

The Well pharmacy chain has appointed Ben Turner to the role HR director on a permanent basis following a six month interim term.

Turner has been part of the HR leadership team at Well for the last two years after previously working as head of HR at One Stop and as learning and development lead for Tesco.

In his new position, he will be responsible for the development and implementation of Well’s people strategy while strengthening employee engagement.

Turner said: “We are going through a really exciting period of transformation at Well, and I am passionate about fully including, engaging and supporting all our colleagues through these changes. Our people are what makes us different, and I’m committed to nurturing the existing talent within the business through the development of a number of career pathways, as well as attracting the best new talent to join us.”

Working in partnership with Keele University, Well launched its new Expert Clinical Practice Programme last week which involves 51 pharmacists starting a three-year diploma.

John Nuttall, chief executive of Well, said: “Our people are our greatest asset and we continue to invest heavily in this area, supporting all our colleagues to develop their capability and skills for a successful future.

“With nearly two decades of experience and a real commitment to and understanding of the values of the business, I’m confident that Ben can lead a successful HR strategy to support our ambitious growth plans, and ensure that our employees are proud to be part of Well.”
