THG announces board changes
Health and beauty retailer THG has appointed Gillian Kent and Dean Moore as independent non-executive directors.
With experience spanning software, internet, digital media and mobile technology businesses, Kent has previously held various senior roles at Microsoft, including managing director MSN UK. Her prior roles have also included being chief executive of real estate portal Propertyfinder.
Meanwhile Moore has previously worked as chief financial officer of Cineworld, N Brown, T&S Stores and Graham Group. He is also a former chairman of Tuxedo Money Solutions and currently holds the position of interim chief financial officer at Dignity.
THG chair Charles Allen said: “The board recognises the ongoing importance of strong corporate governance to underpin and support the long-term prospects of the group and the appointment of these new independent non-executives reinforces our key commitment in this regard.
“Both bring extensive and relevant sector and plc board experience with them and have demonstrated strong track records in business growth; their insight will be invaluable as we continue to develop and refine the strategic drivers underpinning THG’s future growth.”
THG has also announced that senior independent director Zillah Byng-Thorne has stepped down from the board with immediate effect together with non-executive director Andreas Hansson. Meanwhile Damian Sanders will assume the role of interim senior independent director as the company continues its search for suitable additional independent non-executive directors to strengthen the board.
Allen said: “On behalf of the group, I would like to extend my gratitude to both Zillah and Andreas for their valuable contributions during their tenures with THG and wish them success in all their future endeavours.”
