Superdrug targeted by hackers

Health and beauty retailer Superdrug has confirmed that it has been targeted by hackers and that there is a possibility that customers’ names, addresses, telephone numbers and dates of birth have been accessed.

The company made the announcement on Twitter but did not say how many customers had been affected by the breach. As a security precaution, Superdrug has asked its customers to change their online passwords.

The retailer has contacted the police and Action Fraud about the incident.

In June electricals retailer Dixons revealed that it had suffered a data breach which may have impacted as many as ten million customers.
