Space NK to open largest store outside of London

Space NK has committed to opening its largest store outside of London at Birmingham’s Bullring.

The beauty and cosmetics retailer has signed for a 5,500 square foot unit on Bullring’s Upper Level East, adjacent to All Saints, Coach, and Dr. Martens.

Set to open this summer, the regional flagship has 4,356 square feet of trading space and will feature a dedicated consultation area for make-up and skincare. There will also be play tables where customers can sit independently or with a member of the team to explore the store’s selection of hundreds of beauty brands.

Andy Lightfoot, chief executive of Space NK, said: “Our Birmingham community has been very vocal in its wish for us to return to Birmingham, and we are delighted to have secured a location in Bullring, our biggest store outside of London.

Never Miss a Retail Update!

“This will be our first standalone store in the city centre, and an opportunity for customers to shop 100s of the world’s best beauty brands and receive expert advice from our in-store team.”

Last autumn, Bullring welcomed Sephora and K-beauty retailer Pureseoul to its beauty line-up.

Paul O’Brien, director of leasing an commercialisation at Hammerson, said: “Bullring and Grand Central continues to be the place to go for health and beauty in Birmingham. Hammerson’s strategy of creating best-in-class spaces for international brands seeking a flagship presence in destinations that out-perform is evidenced by Space NK’s decision to open their largest store outside the capital.”
