Skin Laundry opens first UK standalone store
Skin Laundry, the US skincare brand and facial clinic, has expanded its international footprint with the opening of its first physical store in the UK.
The shop is situated in Newburgh Street in London’s Soho district. Prior to this, the brand’s only physical space was its successful concession in the Liberty department store.
Gregg Throgmartin, chief executive of Skin Laundry, said: ““Following the success of Skin Laundry’s Liberty London concession, it became apparent that we should look to open our own store in the city. The opening of the Newburgh Street clinic is our first ‘bricks and mortar’ occupation in the UK and gives us the space to ensure the safety of our clients and staff, more appointment availability, easy street access, and so much more.”
The store is housed in a listed building and was refurbished by European construction firm Agilité Solutions. In addition to offering three private treatment rooms, it also has space to stock a wide selection of products for retail sale.
Douglas Deptula, project manager at Agilité Solutions, said: “This is the first time we have worked with Skin Laundry, but we are delighted to be asked to oversee the company’s expansion into London.”
Launched in 2013, Skin Laundry now has 23 stores and clinics worldwide including sites in the US, Hong Kong and Dubai.
Samantha Bain-Mollison, Shaftesbury retail director, said: “We are delighted that Skin Laundry is opening their first ever UK stand-alone store in Carnaby’s Newburgh Street. With the addition of three treatment rooms, the skincare brand offers a premium beauty experience for the destination. The brand joins the recent retail openings on Newburgh Street including Wax London and Canvas.”
