Neom appoints new chairman
Neom, the wellbeing and beauty brand, has appointed former L’Occitane managing director Emmanuel Osti as chairman.
Osti headed up L’Occitane from 2000 to 2015 but began his career as a marketing product manager at L’Oréal. Previous roles also include working for luxury group LVMH and for Johnson & Johnson in France where he was general manager for Neutrogena and RoC.
Based in Milan, Osti currently serves on the board of cosmetic manufacturer Gotha and home cooking start-up Cesarine.
Founded in 2005 by Oliver Mennell and his friend Nicola Elliot, Neom sells its products online, through its five retail stores, and in a range of department stores.
Mennell said: “It’s not often you meet someone that has been one of the key actors in growing an independent brand in this sector from close to €50 million sales to over €1 billion. It’s been an incredible experience growing Neom with Nicola from her spare bedroom to where it is today. With the traction we have, plus the amazing team we now have in place, I’m really looking forward to working with Emmanuel on the next phase of our growth.”
In December 2017, Neom received growth capital investment from consumer brand investment firm Piper.
Osti said: “I am delighted to be joining Nicola, Oliver and the team at Neom. I have followed the brand’s journey with great interest and admiration and very much look forward to helping it develop further, bringing its unique and natural wellbeing products to even more consumers.”
