Natura & Co achieves double digit growth in second quarter
Natura & Co, the owner of the Body Shop, Aesop, Avon and Natura & Co, has recorded double-digit revenue growth in its second quarter following a strong performance across all of its health and beauty brands.
Consolidated net revenue came in at R$9.5 billion, which represented an increase of 36.2% in Brazilian Reais and 31.7% at constant currency, while net income grew to R$235 million. Adjusted EBITDA rose by 31.9% to R$811.2 million, although adjusted EBITDA margin fell by 30 basis points to 8.5% as last year’s second quarter margin was supported by one-off pandemic-related effects of cost containment and government support. Excluding these effects, Natura & Co said adjusted EBITDA margin would have improved by 210 basis points.
The company benefited from strong sales in digital social selling and ecommerce across all brands in the period, despite the continued impact of Covid-19 in key markets. This led to digitally-enabled sales accounting for 51% of total revenue.
Roberto Marques, executive chairman and group chief executive of Natura & Co, said: “Natura & Co turned in another strong performance in the second quarter despite a persistently challenging environment, demonstrating again the relevance of our multichannel model, the powerful appeal of our brands and products and unparalleled direct-to-customer reach. All of our brands and businesses posted double-digit growth and we once again outperformed the global CFT market.”
