Mango expands into beauty with launch of Rituals Cosmetics online

Fashion retailer Mango is launching a beauty category on its new online marketplace to enable it to sell products from the Rituals bath, body and home brand.

The company is initially selling the products in its home country of Spain, but will expand the offering to selected European markets in the next six months.

Mango will offer 150 Rituals products in the six categories of bath and shower, body care, hand care, facial care, gift sets and home, but these will be extended in the coming months.

The retailer said the move will add a new category to its online channel after it made its marketplace debut with the inclusion of the Intimissimi range of lingerie.

Elena Carasso, Mango online and customer director, said: “We want to strengthen our offer with complementary categories and continue moving forward in our goal to construct a platform of services for our customers.”

Following the Rituals launch, Mango will expand the marketplace by adding other brands that complement its offering.

Mango currently distributes Intimissimi in Spain, France and the Netherlands, and plans to launch the brand in Germany, Belgium, Austria, Sweden, Denmark, Switzerland and Ireland in the coming months.

At the end of 2021, online sales accounted for 42% of Mango’s turnover, which was up from 24% in 2019, and its online sales stood at €942 million.
