Lucy Boynton switches on new festive Bond Street lights by Chanel
British actress and Chanel ambassador Lucy Boynton switched on the Chanel N°5 lights on Mayfair’s Bond Street yesterday as part of a collaboration between Chanel Fragrance & Beauty and New West End Company.
A tradition for over 60 years on Bond Street, the lights will be turned on from 4pm to midnight each day until 12 January from Piccadilly to Oxford Street.
This is the first time that the lights have been illuminated with an exclusive Chanel N°5 installation.
Thomas du Pré de Saint Maur, head of global creative at Chanel Fragrance & Beauty, said: “Thanks to a splendid collaboration between the New West End Company and Chanel, we hope to delight passers by, amaze children, and make grown-ups dream.”
Dee Corsi, chief executive of New West End Company, added: “We have had some spectacular illuminations on Bond Street across the decades, but this year’s exclusive installation from Chanel Fragrance & Beauty is something truly special.”
Drawing inspiration from the Chanel N°5 fragrance, the light installation has used 85,750 LED bulbs and is fabricated from recyclable aluminium. All of the LED lights will be reusable for future projects.
