L’Occitane strengthens sustainability mission with energy-saving measures across UK stores

L’OCCITANE, a leading natural bath, body, and skincare brand, has teamed up with LoweConex, a data-driven platform designed to help retailers achieve a more sustainable future.

This collaboration aims to reduce energy consumption across L’OCCITANE’s UK stores by monitoring and controlling their heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems through the LoweConex platform.

With ambitions to reach Net Zero by 2050, this new partnership will allow L’OCCITANE to streamline asset management, reduce energy usage, and achieve cost savings across its store estate. The software’s automation capabilities promise to play a crucial role in supporting the brand’s sustainability efforts.

Rachel Meckes, Senior Sustainability Manager at L’OCCITANE, commented: “At L’OCCITANE, we understand the importance of our stores and mitigating their environmental impact. In line with our broader sustainability goals, our partnership with LoweConex will enable us to mitigate energy consumption across the estate through end-to-end automation, saving our team time and supporting our environmental initiatives. We look forward to working alongside LoweConex as part of our continued work to have one of the most environmentally conscious store estates on the high street.”

This partnership builds on L’OCCITANE’s strong track record in sustainability. The brand achieved B-Corp certification in 2023 and partners with Ecologi to offset carbon emissions from all UK and Ireland online orders and returns. The collaboration with LoweConex will help further reduce carbon emissions on a broader, estate-wide level.

LoweConex, known for its expertise in delivering energy-saving solutions for high street retailers, has helped clients across the UK save tens of millions of kWh of energy.

Jessica Caldwell, Head of Customer Success at LoweConex, expressed excitement about the new collaboration, stating: “L’OCCITANE is a renowned brand that is well known for its commitment to sustainability. The team at LoweConex are excited about this latest partnership and looks forward to replicating the estate control, energy and carbon reduction success we’ve had across the retail industry with the team at L’OCCITANE.”
