Gymshark appoints Laura Hagan as its new Chief People Officer

Gymshark today announces that Laura Hagan is to join Gymshark in January 2023 as its new Chief People Officer (CPO).

Laura is the latest in a recent spate of senior appointments at Gymshark, following Mat Dunn joining from Asos as Chief Financial Officer, John Douglas joining from Burberry as Chief Technology Officer and Carly O’Brien joining from The Very Group as VP, Marketing.

Laura joins after more than four years as the Chief HR Officer at Tate & Lyle PLC where she’s played a key role in driving transformation across this global food solutions business. Prior to that, she spent over eleven years at Dyson, fulfilling a number of key roles before becoming Dyson’s Global HR Director.

Whilst at Dyson, she led the people agenda as the company scaled globally and expanded its famous innovation & product categories. Earlier in her career, she was a management consultant at Arthur Andersen and founded her own headhunting & talent consultancy.

In her new role, Laura will be responsible for ensuring Gymshark attracts the right talent at the right time, enabling growth in a considered and thoughtful way, whilst retaining the DNA that has helped get Gymshark to the global player it is today. She will report directly into Founder and CEO, Ben Francis.

Laura Hagan, CPO, Gymshark, said: “I’ve always been passionate about the impact that brilliant talent has on the success of every business. It was clear as soon as I met Ben and the team at Gymshark, that its people are a key priority alongside innovation & ambitious growth. I can’t wait to get started and work with all parts of the business to attract the best possible talent to this incredibly exciting brand and to enable its future success”

Ben Francis, Founder and CEO, Gymshark said: “Since day one of Gymshark, our people have always been, and always will be, our most important and powerful asset. That will never change. Laura shares that view with us, which is why I’m so happy to welcome her to the fold. Her hunger for rapid innovation and commercial growth with a laser focus on talent and performance was plain to see. I am so impressed by her passion both about the impact that brilliant talent has on the success of every business as well as equitable access to opportunity. She’s a stellar addition to our team.”
