Groupe Casino and L’Oreal team up to launch Le Drugstore Parisien

French supermarket operator Groupe Casino has joined forces with L’Oréal France to launch a new beauty and wellbeing store concept called Le Drugstore Parisien.

Operated by Groupe Casino through its Franprix banner in partnership with L’Oréal France, the stores will stock beauty and wellbeing products as well as over-the-counter pharmaceutical items, sewing kits, accessories and healthy snacks and treats.

The stores will also offer a range of services such as free Wi-Fi, mobile phone charging points, water fountains, shoe-shining machines, sinks and dressing tables, dry cleaning, parcel pick-up points, light therapy areas, a key exchange, and one-hour Glovo delivery for certain products.

Jean-Charles Naouri, chairman of Groupe Casino, said: “Innovation is central to Casino’s activities. Le Drugstore Parisien is yet another example of our constant drive to innovate, which runs deep within the Casino Group.“

Brands available will include L’Oréal Paris, Maybelline, Garnier, NYX Professional Makeup, Essie and Sanoflore, as well as smaller exclusive brands.

The first two stores have launched in Paris in the 6th and 9th arrondissements. They will be open seven days a week and will also remain open one day a month for 24 hours to offer Parisians access to exclusive events and wellbeing services.

Jean-Paul Agon, chairman and chief executive of L’Oréal Group, added: “We are delighted to be driving change alongside Casino by delivering a new beauty experience for consumers in France and, at the same time, bringing new life to the development of concepts at the forefront of new beauty consumer trends. Innovating and inventing new ways to meet consumer expectations is at the core of our DNA.”
