Freemans launches full beauty offering

Online department store Freemans has launched a new and more comprehensive beauty offering to complement its fashion and homeware ranges.

The retailer is now giving customers access to thousands of lines for next day delivery across the cosmetics, skincare, fragrance and haircare categories.

Brands will include the likes of Elizabeth Arden, Moschino, SVR, Pur Cosmetics, Revlon and James Read, but Freemans said the range will  continue to evolve and expand throughout the next few months.

The company has also launched its new  ‘Beauty Call’ initiative, which encourages brands of any size to pitch their products to the Freemans beauty team.

Linda Quinn, Freemans chief merchandise officer, said: “Beauty is another important step on the journey to meet our ambition to become the UK’s online department store of choice.

“We are hugely excited to be able to launch and strengthen our beauty proposition at Freemans.  Focused on creating an exciting destination for customers that are craving somewhere new to shop beauty.

“Freemans will give customers access to a fantastic selection of both established and emerging brands.”

The retailer has recently recruited ex-Debenham’s buyer Michelle Fox to lead the beauty strategy following the appointment of Richard Cristofoli, a former Debenhams managing director of beauty, marketing and digital, as chief customer officer last year.

Cristofoli added: “The beauty call initiative we’re launching today is a simple way for brands to contact the beauty team  directly. We appreciate the challenges of setting up a new brand and have a range of payment terms that are designed to nurture and support these emerging brands.”
