Boots to launch new online marketplace
Boots will be launching a new online marketplace in the spring of next year as part of its digital transformation programme.
The health and beauty retailer said the move will extend the range of its website and enable it to explore new categories for customers.
Products within Boots Marketplace will be seamlessly integrated with the existing product range on boots.com and will offer customers access to hundreds of new brands across established names and new sellers.
The platform will be powered by Mirakl.
Paula Bobbett, chief digital officer at Boots, said: “We’re approaching this new opportunity for Boots with a deep understanding of our customers and the health, beauty and wellness products that they want to buy, and helps us to work with new smaller and entrepreneurial brands. Marketplace will allow us to build on the strength of our existing business to offer an even bigger range of choice for consumers and be the first to market with emerging brands and new products.”
The news follows the 2021 launch of the retailer’s health hub online marketplace which connects customers to doctors, therapists and dermatologists.
