Benefit brings back ‘Bold is Beautiful’ charity-giving scheme
Benefit, the beauty brand renowned for its brow products and retro-glam aesthetic, has announced the return of its ‘Bold is Beautiful’ philanthropy programme this May.
As part of this initiative, Benefit UK & Ireland pledges to donate £5 from every brow wax sale to its charity partners: Look Good Feel Better, Daisyhouse, and Refuge.
The ‘Bold is Beautiful’ campaign will direct funds towards empowering women and girls through education, mentorship, access to wellness, and financial self-sufficiency. Initiatives include creating support networks for women overcoming the physical effects of cancer, hosting workshops to boost self-esteem and confidence, and providing safe houses for women and children who have been subjected to domestic abuse, helping them start to rebuild their lives.
Since its inception in 2015, Benefit’s ‘Bold is Beautiful’ philanthropy programme has successfully raised enough funds to keep a refuge open for 3.5 years and has conducted confidence-boosting makeup and skincare workshops for over 18,000 women. Globally, the programme has raised over £21.2 million ($26.6 million), with nearly £2 million raised to support women and children in the UK and Ireland.
Sarah Harbon, General Manager at Benefit Cosmetics UK & Ireland, said, “‘Bold is Beautiful’ goes beyond the beauty counter, and the impact of our work can be seen in the countless lives of women and children who have been positively affected by our efforts. It’s important to continue to raise awareness and inspire as many people as possible to get involved. Our brow waxes support our longstanding charity partners, Look Good Feel Better, Daisyhouse, and Refuge. Every brow wax booked in May will help make an impact within our local communities, enabling women and girls to feel empowered and providing care and support for those in need. Through ‘Bold is Beautiful’, we have built a strong community of women and men helping women, fundraising and supporting each other, which is something I am really proud of.”
