Beauty Base to open Milton Keynes store

Beauty and fragrance retailer Beauty Base is to launch a new store at Centre:mk in Milton Keynes.

Situated on Crown Walk, the 5,524 square foot store will showcase the retailer’s self-service range of products from brands such as Gucci, Dolce & Gabanna, Marc Jacobs, Jimmy Choo, Issey Miyake, Hermès, Clarins, Lancôme and Shiseido.

A director at Beauty Base said: “We are the first fragrance retailer to develop the specialised self-service concept in the UK.

“Milton Keynes is a key location for our brand and we wanted our regional debut to be at a destination with fantastic brands and an appealing environment, especially as Centre:mk attracts a high volume of visitors in a strong catchment.”

The signing follows extensive investment in Centre:mk by joint owners AustralianSuper and Hermes Investment Management that has included £60 million worth of enhancements over three years.

Speaking on behalf of Hermes Investment Management and AustralianSuper, Ed Sellick said: “The strength of the beauty category is a clear marker of sustained demand from the catchment for cosmetics. We are excited to welcome Beauty Base to Centre:mk, where they will join a growing portfolio of brands that have chosen the revitalised scheme to make their debut outside of London.”

Centre:mk has recently launched the UK debut for Milton Keynes Council’s Electric Vehicle Experience Centre. In addition, the centre has signed up Primark for a new 75,000 square foot store which is its single largest letting in 25 years.
