Aesop chooses Chelsea for largest UK store

Australian skincare brand Aesop is to open its largest UK store at Cadogan’s Duke of York Square development in Chelsea.

Situated at 22 – 24 Duke of York Square, the 1,163 square foot shop will sit alongside premium brands such as Monica Vinader, Liz Earle, Trilogy, Cos, Joseph, Space NK and Zara as well as the Taschen flagship and Saatchi Gallery.

Thomas Buisson, general manager Europe, Aesop, said: “Chelsea has been on our wish list for several years. As always, we patiently waited for the perfect opportunity to come along and this has materialised in this corner location at Duke of York Square in the immediate vicinity of the Saatchi gallery.”

The new store will be designed by architect Snøhetta and is due to open in September 2017.

Buisson added: “This will be our largest UK store and we have asked our friends at Snöhetta with whom we have already collaborated in Berlin, Oslo and Dusseldorf to imagine an architectural concept that will match the scale and significance of this store in our portfolio.”
