Zalando to launch thousands of pick-up points across the UK

Online fashion and footwear retailer Zalando has introduced thousands of new pick-up points across the UK as it looks to improve convenience for its customers.

The service will enable shoppers to receive and return their packages at over 3,500 pick-up points, many of which will be open on Saturday and/or Sunday and outside of normal business hours.

With locations including newsagents, petrol stations and supermarkets, the network will be extended over the next few months as Zalando works towards having UK 5,000 pick-up points by the beginning of 2015.

Robert Schütze, country manager Zalando for UK, said: “We believe that shopping on Zalando should be a convenient and straightforward experience for the customer. Online shopping allows the customer to browse and purchase at any time of the day and now, with the introduction of pick-up points, delivery and returns are now also less dependent on time restrictions.”

Never Miss a Retail Update!

The retailer is also planning to launch a Zalando app in the UK before the start of the summer.

Schütze added: “The launch of the app will mean a significant improvement in the user experience when shopping from mobile devices.”
