Yoox Net-a-Porter appoints two new independent directors
Yoox Net-a-Porter, the online luxury fashion retailer, has appointed Eva Chen, global head of fashion partnerships at Instagram, and Vittorio Radice, vice chairman of Italian department store chain la Rinascente, as independent directors of the company.
Chen was appointed to her role at Instagram in July 2015 after two years as editor-in-chief for Condé Nast’s Lucky magazine. She has also previously worked at publications such as Elle, Teen Vogue and The Wall Street Journal.
Federico Marchetti, Yoox Net-a-Porter chief executive, said: “Eva’s appointment brings our customers right onto the board. She is one of the industry’s most connected and innovative voices and brings a fresh, youthful perspective together with exceptional expertise at the convergence of social commerce and fashion. She also represents one of our most important markets – the US – and will bring that sensibility to the heart of the business.”
Meanwhile, Radice recently led the successful repositioning of la Rinascente where he is currently in charge of international development. He is now fully involved in the remodelling of two newly acquired European historic department stores: Illum in Denmark and Kadewe Group in Germany. His previous roles include chief executive of Selfridges from 1996 to 2003.
Marchetti added: “Vittorio is a retail connoisseur and a champion of exceptional service. His extensive professional experience of traditional luxury retail in both London and Milan perfectly unites the heritages of the combined group and will provide vital insights as we enter an exciting new phase of growth.”
