Woolworths FD moving to Whitbread
Christopher Rogers joining leisure group
Christopher Rogers, currently group finance director of Woolworths, is joining leisure giant Whitbread as finance director.
Rogers will leave Woolworths after its full year results announcement in March. He joined the high street retailer from Comet, which like Woolworths, was then part of the Kingfisher group. He qualified as a chartered accountant with Price Waterhouse.
Trevor Bish-Jones, Woolworths CEO said: “We wish Chris every success in his new position. He has done an excellent job here at Woolworths and Whitbread offers him a great opportunity to develop further his career. We have started the search process for his successor.”

His strong retail and commercial background will enable him to make an immediate contribution at Whitbread as we continue to develop our strategy to maximise shareholder value.”
This is the second time Whitbread has been shopping on the high street for senior executives in recent months. In October, Sainsbury’s supermarket property director Desmond Taljaard was appointed group development director of Whitbread.
