Woolies lifted by multi channel strategy

Group remains cautious

The weather has had a beneficial impact on trading with LFLs in the last eight weeks up +3.7 per cent.Woolworths customers have been ordering more indoor products using the multi-channel format, ordering at home for delivery either to the home or the closest store. As a result LFLs for the 25 week period are up +0.7 per cent. Third-party sales at EUK for the 25 weeks increased by 36.2 per cent.Chief Executive, Trevor Bish-Jones, said
‘Whilst we are encouraged by the sales performance across the Group to date, we are mindful that the retail like-for-like performance is against weak comparatives and we continue to be cautious about the retail environment going
forward. We remain focussed on running the business tightly, concentrating on cash generation, control of costs and improving margins.’
