Wilko hires Chris Martin as non-executive director
Wilko has appointed Musgrave Group chief executive Chris Martin as a non-executive director.
Due to take up his role in January, Martin joined the Musgrave board in 2003 and prior to that was chief executive of Mothercare and group finance director of Storehouse. His previous experience also includes various roles at Asda and Pizza Hut.
Lisa Wilkinson, family director and chair of WHSL, said: “We’re proud we’re a family owned group and the refreshingly different way this enables us to do business. Chris’s significant commercial expertise and first-hand experience at the helm of a highly successful sixth generation family business will help us to stay true to our roots while we continue on our transformational journey to become a product-led business.”
Wilko has also made some additional appointments as it looks to strengthen its leadership team. Andrew Moore, Wilko’s chief commercial officer, is being appointed as executive managing director of Wilko Retail and as director and chair of Wilko Worldwide. Meanwhile, Wilkinson has been appointed as the company’s chair and Jerome Saint-Marc as director and transformation managing director of both Wilko Brands and Wilko Digital.
